System
Agfa reflex quick-change
Spec Notes
The standard lens of both reflex systems, and the lens that made a body a Selectaflex I. A museum marks its Selectaflex example "( auch fuer Ambiflex )". NAME COLLISION IS DELIBERATE AND LEGITIMATE: a different lens of the same printed name exists on the Ambi Silette rangefinder bayonet. AGFA PUBLISHES NO OPTICAL SPECIFICATION FOR THIS LENS. Elements, groups, filter thread, minimum focus, blades, weight and per-lens production years are ABSENT from Agfa's own instruction books and from every source consulted. HAZARD: an Ambiflex-era lens will mount on a Selectaflex body and then cannot be removed without mechanical intervention. Agfa's museum states it in German and in its own English: "Ambiflex-Objektive passen nicht bei der Selectaflex!!! Sie lassen sich dann nicht mehr entfernen!" The reverse direction works: a first-hand mount test reports a Selectaflex lens fitting an Ambiflex body. The physical tell of an Ambiflex-era lens is a funnel-shaped notch at the distance-scale mark. NO flange focal distance exists for either mount, from any source.
