INTERCHANGEABLE FRONT COMPONENT, not a complete lens. Fits Retina IIc, IIC, IIIc, IIIC and Retina Reflex (type 025) bodies with a SCHNEIDER XENON standard lens only. Kodak's own name for the part is 'Kodak Retina Longar Lens Component, 80mm f/4'. MAXIMUM APERTURE IS A PROPERTY OF THE COMPONENT, NOT THE BODY: on an f/2 IIIC the combination still opens no wider than f/4, which is why this row is not split by body aperture. FILTER: thread 58mm; Kodak designates the screw-in filters for it '60 mm' (Kodak Retina IIc book: 'Kodak Filters (Screw-in type, 60mm diameter) for 80mm f/4 lens'). The reading that '60 mm' meant a push-on outer diameter is refuted by Kodak's own word 'screw-in'. WEIGHT is a dealer measurement (Kamerastore); the same listing gives '63 x 46 mm' without naming the axes, so diameter and length are omitted rather than guessed. DATES: present in the 1954 launch documentation; no source dates the component itself. Elements and groups absent on purpose - published counts describe the complete lens, not the front cell.
