Everything in this note was retrieved afterwards by bounded verbatim request against the named source and confirmed by a second differently-worded read. Where a fact could not be retrieved it is marked NOT SOURCED rather than replaced with a better guess. *** EVERY NUMERIC SPECIFICATION PREVIOUSLY ON THIS ROW HAS BEEN NULLED, AND THE REASON MATTERS MORE THAN THE ROW. *** The fabricated block gave 6 aperture blades, f/1.4-16, 0.5m minimum focus and a 52mm filter. Those are not invented numbers - they are the AUTO RIKENON 55mm f/1.4's published figures, lightly altered and transposed onto this 50mm lens. That is the same failure shape as the 'MC Tele Rokkor-QD 135mm f/2.8' this catalogue deleted as a chimera: the attributes of a real product welded onto the wrong product. FABRICATION BORROWS RATHER THAN INVENTS, which is precisely why it survives a plausibility check. No source anywhere states blades, minimum focus, filter thread or minimum aperture for THIS lens, so all four are now absent. '1976' has gone too: it is the CAMERA's introduction date, not the lens's. WHAT IS VERIFIED. The lens exists and is M42 at 50mm f/1.4 - dealer listings, the LENS-DB index and owner accounts agree. Ricoh's own instruction manual for the Auto TLS EE names it, its lens list reading 'AUTO RIKENON EE', 'High Speed AUTO RIKENON EE Lens' and 'NON-EE RIKENON', and instructing 'Mount either AUTO RIKENON EE or NON-EE RIKENON or any other screw-mount lens onto camera body.' THE REAR TAB IS REAL, attested by two independent non-copying sources - a dealer listing noting 'the rear tab has been removed so that it can be mounted to adapters and other camera bodies', and a forum description of 'a separate tab for stopping down the lens with Ricoh's EE shutter priority system'. camera-wiki corroborates the coupling: 'While it accepts any 42mm screw-mount lens, when used with proprietary Rikenon lenses set to EE... The body is able to set the correct lens f-stop automatically in response to the brightness of the scene.' WHAT IS NOT SOURCED, AND WAS PREVIOUSLY ASSERTED AS FACT. That the Auto TLS EE is the ONLY body using the tab - no source says 'only'. That it was Ricoh's LAST M42 SLR - the 1977 move to K mount with the XR-1 is verified, but no source names a final screw-mount model. AND THE MANUFACTURER: the sole discussion is a forum thread whose author proposes Cosina and an early Tomioka 55mm derivation, then examines the rear element and RETRACTS - 'so no Tomioka derivative'. NO OEM IS RECORDED. The previous note's framing was right that the Tomioka attribution attaches to the 55mm rather than this lens, but even that rests on a single enthusiast source which concedes 'there is no TOMIOKA on the nameplate'. THE K-MOUNT TRAP IS REAL AND IS VERIFIED: 'XR Rikenon 50mm f/1.4' is a different lens on K mount from 1977, indexed separately by LENS-DB, and the two are routinely conflated by sellers. The mount is the tell.
