World's first 110-format interchangeable-lens SLR. Programme runs f/2.8 at 1 s to f/13.5 at 1/750 s (brochure, verbatim: 'Programmed electronic behind-the-lens shutter with programmed body diaphragm'). THE DIAPHRAGM IS IN THE BODY - the lenses have none. That is why every Pentax-110 lens is f/2.8. YEAR CONFLICT: Ricoh Imaging's own JP page says 「1979年…アサヒペンタックス auto110」を発売; the JCII / 産業技術史資料データベース record 103310371363 says 昭和53年7月発売 (July 1978) at ¥34,000 with the 18mm F2.8. awane-camera cites カメラ年鑑1981 for March 1979. Recorded as 1979 on the maker's own statement; the JCII 1978 record is the live dissent. Body-marking variants (white 'ASAHI' panhead, black 'ASAHI' panhead, black Philips-screw without the paint) are production variations of one model and fold here. THE 'SAFARI' IS NOT A LIMITED EDITION AND GETS NO ROW - submin.com, the source usually cited for it, states it 'was not available commercially but was available as a corporate gift'. The widely repeated 5,000-unit figure appears in no source at all.
