Roughly 50,000 units. Combined rangefinder-viewfinder. Retains the depth-of-field scale on the camera base, which disappears on the Type 014. Lens options sourced: Kodak Ektar 47mm f/2, Schneider Retina-Xenon 5cm f/2 (uncoated and coated), Rodenstock Heligon 50mm f/2 (uncoated). Shutter Compur-Rapid 1-1/500 + B. *** WHO BUILT THE KODAK-BRANDED GLASS, resolved in verification and it splits ***: the 47mm f/2 Ektar is an EASTMAN KODAK ROCHESTER lens - a 6-element double-Gauss, and the odd 47mm focal length is itself the tell, since no German Retina lens is 47mm. Every OTHER Kodak-engraved Retina lens (Kodak Anastigmat, Anastigmat Ektar, Ektar f/3.5) is a rebadged Schneider-Kreuznach, sold under Kodak names for the US market. The discriminator is the SERIAL FORMAT, not the engraving: a genuine Rochester lens carries a two-letter CAMEROSITY year prefix, while a rebadged Schneider serial is purely numeric. Weight and dimensions NOT SOURCED for this Type. DATING: Kodak AG published no serial-to-year table, and the collector lists that exist map serial to MODEL with OVERLAPPING ranges - Retina Ia (015) and IIa (016) share two bands character-for-character, as do Retina I (013) and II (014), and a 50001-ish low block recurs across Types 018, 019/2, 028 and 029. A serial-only lookup is not merely imprecise, it is actively wrong. Where the fitted lens is Schneider-built, the LENS is datable from Schneider's own 63 published serial bands, already loaded; Rodenstock publishes none.
