Research
Chris Sherlock, retinarescue.com (per-Type pages); Focal Press Retinette Guide (1960) and Retina Reflex Guide; Kodak Retinette I instruction manual (imprint 'KODAK AG - STUTTGART - WANGEN'); Kodak Retina S1 manual; Science Museum Group object records; camerapedia; collection-appareils.fr; kodakverzameling.nl; bvipirate.com. cameracollector.net is deliberately NOT relied on for values - it failed three independent checks in the adversarial pass.

Spec Notes
Roughly 48,000 units. Schneider-Kreuznach Retina-Xenar 45mm f/2.8 - an upgrade from the Automatic I's Reomar triplet - in a Compur-Automat. Coupled selenium meter with a Gossen cell. No rangefinder; three dots in the finder for zone focusing. Two hardware dimensions separate it from the Automatic I: lens and shutter. *** THIS ROW IS HELD OPEN DELIBERATELY, and the reason is worth stating ***: the Automatic II and Automatic III differ, on every source read, by ONE dimension - the III's coupled rangefinder. Under this catalogue's two-difference rule the III would fold into this row. It has NOT been folded, because the shutter is unverified: Kodak's own service document for the Automatic III specifies 1/30-1/500 + B, and no primary document for the 032 is online, so if the 032 tops out below 1/500 the pair differs by two dimensions and both rows are right. The specialist source is known to hold a Kodak Retina Automatic II parts list and service manual; that document settles it. CONFIDENCE IS SET TO LOW ON THIS ROW for that reason, and shutter Speed Range is deliberately absent rather than guessed.
