Research
Chris Sherlock, retinarescue.com (per-Type pages); Focal Press Retinette Guide (1960) and Retina Reflex Guide; Kodak Retinette I instruction manual (imprint 'KODAK AG - STUTTGART - WANGEN'); Kodak Retina S1 manual; Science Museum Group object records; camerapedia; collection-appareils.fr; kodakverzameling.nl; bvipirate.com. cameracollector.net is deliberately NOT relied on for values - it failed three independent checks in the adversarial pass.

Spec Notes
Schneider-Kreuznach Retina-Reomar 45mm f/2.8, three elements. Coupled selenium meter setting the aperture automatically. NO RANGEFINDER - three dots in the finder for zone focusing, with clicked stops at 35 ft, 10 ft and 6.5 ft. *** THE TYPE NUMBERS IN THIS PROJECT'S OWN PLANNING WERE WRONG ***: an earlier note had Automatic I as Type 032. Three independent sources agree the mapping is Automatic I = 038, Automatic II = 032, Automatic III = 039. Note that this makes the Automatic I numerically HIGHER than the Automatic II - another clean example of Kodak AG Type numbers not running in product order. PRODUCTION END UNCONSTRAINED: 1963 vs 1962 across sources; the start, 1960, is agreed. Shutter speed range NOT SOURCED. Weight and dimensions NOT SOURCED.
