NOT MERELY A LENS RENAME - three dimensions, which is the answer to the obvious objection. Lens: Anastigmat to Anastar, both four-element, both Kodak's own printed word. FILM ADVANCE: the Reflex II adds an 'automatic film stop; exposure numbers in counter actuated by metering device' where the original had no automatic frame counting - a real mechanism, not a convenience. SHUTTER: the same Flash Kodamatic family but a different speed set, topping at 1/300 against 1/200. Plus the Ektalite Field Lens focusing screen, which Kodak claims boosts brightness '2-1/2 times over-all and 10 times at the corners'. $155. BODY SERIAL, AND KODAK SAYS WHERE: the instruction book reads 'SERIAL NUMBER - in rim around tripod socket. Keep a record of this number with your personal papers.' NO SERIAL-TO-YEAR TABLE EXISTS. Three secondary weight figures disagree - 2 lb 1 oz, 935.6 g and 754 g - so no weight is recorded. Kodak published none. One secondary source ends production in 1949 against AA-13's 1954. DATING: the fitted lens carries Kodak's CAMEROSITY two-letter year prefix on its serial (C=1 A=2 M=3 E=4 R=5 O=6 S=7 I=8 T=9 Y=0), stamped on the ring securing the front group. This gives the LENS year, not the body's, and a swapped lens dates the wrong object - a documented hazard, one collector owning a Medalist I wearing a Medalist II lens. DATES ARE MARKET DATES, NOT PRODUCTION. Kodak's own AA-13 heads its columns 'ON THE MARKET FROM / TO', and no Kodak-published production date exists for any camera in this slice - every third-party 'production years' figure checked is a restatement of AA-13.
