*** A LENS NAME AND AN ELEMENT COUNT BOTH CORRECTED FROM A WIDELY-READ SOURCE ***. One encyclopedia gives this camera a 'Kodak Anastar f:3.5 80mm' and calls it 'two three-element lenses'. Kodak's own sales brochure A3-8 4-48 says both things differently: 'FOUR-ELEMENT, LUMENIZED f/3.5 TWIN LENSES' and '80mm. Kodak Anastigmat lenses', with the viewing lens 'in basic design the same as the taking lens' and both positively geared together. The ANASTAR belongs to the Reflex II, one model later. Ground-glass focusing screen with magnifier; hood converts to an eye-level open-frame finder. Die-cast aluminium, Kodadur covering. 828 adapter available. $120 with field case. GENERATION FOLDED IN: the KODAK REFLEX Ia, and it is worth naming because KODAK NAMED IT - AA-13 carries the line 'KODAK Reflex lA Camera (Factory-modified KODAK Reflex Camera)'. It is a Reflex returned to the factory and refitted with an Ektalite Fresnel field lens in place of the plain ground glass. That is a focusing-screen change and nothing else, which is not even one of this catalogue's hardware dimensions. The AA-13 line's own year field reads 1944, which is impossible for a camera introduced in 1946, so no year is recorded for the Ia. Body serial: NOT SOURCED for this model, unlike the Reflex II. Weight and dimensions NOT SOURCED at any tier. DATING: NONE. The CAMEROSITY lens prefix is attested only on Ektar, Anastigmat Special and Anastar lenses. No prefixed EKTANAR or ANASTON serial could be found in Kodak literature, museum records, dealer inventory or auction text, and no source states whether those tiers are inside or outside the scheme - so this camera is NOT datable from its lens. The four-letter body date code that cheap Kodaks carry is not sourced for this model either. DATES ARE MARKET DATES, NOT PRODUCTION. Kodak's own AA-13 heads its columns 'ON THE MARKET FROM / TO', and no Kodak-published production date exists for any camera in this slice - every third-party 'production years' figure checked is a restatement of AA-13.
