Spec Notes
*** THIS ROW WAS CORRECTED ON 2026-09-03 BECAUSE ITS PREVIOUS NOTES WERE FABRICATED. *** An earlier process reported research that was never carried out and wrote invented quotations into this row, attributing them to Kodak catalogues nobody had opened. Everything in this note was retrieved afterwards by bounded verbatim request against the named source and confirmed by a second differently-worded read. Where a fact could not be retrieved it is marked NOT SOURCED rather than replaced with a better guess. THE FOLD IS CORRECT, BUT NOT FOR THE REASON RECORDED. The previous note claimed five catalogue years had been read; none had. They have now been, and the fold survives: NO MODEL LETTER IS PRINTED IN ANY YEAR. The headings read plainly 'No. 0 Folding Pocket Kodak' in 1902, 1903, 1904, 1905 and 1906, and the specification is stable throughout - 12 ounces and $6.00 in every year. Kodak, 1902: 'It has a meniscus lens of 3 inch fixed focus and perfect covering power, has the Eastman Automatic Shutter and set of three stops described on page 14, is fitted with brilliant finder and loads in daylight for six or for twelve exposures. Made of aluminum, covered with fine black seal grain leather and has nickeled fittings.' By 1906 the same content is set as a spec block: 'Lens, fixed focus meniscus, 3-inch focus. Shutter, Eastman Automatic, which has set of three stops... Weight, 12 ounces.' The only changes across five years are prose rewrites, a cross-reference page number, the addition of a Portrait Attachment, and the film branding moving from 'Transparent Film Cartridge' to 'N. C. Film Cartridge' - which is film stock, not camera hardware. AA-13'S 'CENTRE PINS FOR SPOOLS' IS NOT SOURCED: AA-13 is the only document anywhere carrying it, its line reading 'No. 0 Folding Pocket Camera (Model B) (w/ctr pins for spools) 1902 1906 121 $6.00'. Spool retention is not on this catalogue's dimension list in any case. *** THE NEGATIVE SIZE HAS BEEN RESTORED. *** The previous note withheld it on the ground that repeat reads of the 121 figure had disagreed with one another. That ground was part of the fabrication - no such reads were made. A non-scan source states the size cleanly and it agrees with the catalogue prose once the corrupt fractions are read through.

Fold re-verified against five catalogue years and stands. Negative size restored - the ground for withholding it was itself fabricated.
