German-built by Kodak AG, and the odd one out in this slice - a 126 cartridge SLR carrying the same DKL bayonet as the 35mm Retina Reflexes. Kodak published ONE combined lens manual, 'Kodak Instamatic Reflex & Kodak Retina Reflex lenses', covering both families with a single lens set and a single mounting procedure, which is the strongest evidence that one mount slug is right for Types 027, 034, 041, 051 and 062 together. MOUNT COMPATIBILITY IS NOT FUNCTIONAL COMPATIBILITY: the Instamatic Reflex's own 45mm is reported as NOT rangefinder-cammed, so a lens that mounts on a Retina IIIS may still not drive its coupled rangefinder. Standard lens: Schneider Retina-Xenon 50mm f/1.9 or Schneider Retina-Xenar 45mm f/2.8; no Rodenstock standard is sourced for this body. Exposure is automatic only, with no visible speed ring; two PX825 mercury cells. TWO DISPUTES RESOLVED IN VERIFICATION: the frame is 28 x 28 mm, not 24 x 24 - no 126 camera exposes 24 x 24, and 28 x 28 is the 126 standard, usually masked to about 26.5 mm in printing. The shutter's long end is 20 seconds, not 10; the 10-second figure appears only as a loose 'ten-plus seconds'. THE END YEAR IS BOTH: withdrawn 1970 on the continent and 1974 in the US and UK. 1974 is recorded as the production end with the continental withdrawal noted.
