Kodak's own instruction book lists ten marked speeds: 1/1000, 1/500, 1/250, 1/100, 1/50, 1/25, 1/10, 1/5, 1/2 and 1 second, plus Bulb — split across a high-speed knob and a separate slow-speed governor. VIEWFINDER: a built-in varifocal finder covering 50-254mm set by a Finder Adjustment Disk, with automatic parallax correction to 3.5 ft and a diopter adjustment. It is SEPARATE from the rangefinder window, not combined. The 254mm setting is aspirational — that lens was never built. The 35mm lens needs a supplementary finder lens slipped over the finder with the disk set to 50. MAGAZINE BACKS: interchangeable, for mid-roll changes between black-and-white and Kodachrome; each was CUSTOM-FITTED to its body and carries a matching serial, so a mismatched pair is a mismatched camera. $55.00 each in 1941; Kodak sold them open-endedly rather than in a fixed set. FLASH: no built-in sync; an accessory Flash Synchronizer covered 1/25 to 1/500. WEIGHT NOT RECORDED: the only figure anywhere (740 g body) is from a single publication and no museum accession record carries a mass. Height 90mm and depth 72mm are measured (Science Museum Group co8085265) but the schema has no keys for them. RANGEFINDER MAGNIFICATION NOT RECORDED: 1.6x is single-source; the 104mm base has two. PRODUCTION TOTAL DISPUTED, roughly 2,000-2,500 — and the figures are not measuring the same thing: about 2,000 PRODUCED (Brian Coe, Kodak Cameras: The First Hundred Years), 2,490 (Modern Photography, April 1975), about 2,500 SOLD. Do not print a single number. NO WARTIME HIATUS IS SOURCED in either direction — do not assert one. THE EKTRA II NEVER ENTERED PRODUCTION: four are RECORDED SO FAR — the auction source says exactly that, and the list is open, so do not write "four were made". Serials carry a B prefix (B-7032, B7046) and the recorded set is 7020, 7021, 7032, 7046. Features: a spring motor back, a larger tripod mount, the 254 setting dropped, and a built-in finder for the 35mm lens replacing the slip-on.
