Spec Notes

TWO VERSIONS: a basic one with a FIXED 20mm f/3.5, and an advanced one with the Type A threaded mount. Modelled on the interchangeable version. Enclosed finder rather than open; interchangeable versions take separate finder front lenses. TYPE A IS NOT COLLAPSED ONTO C-MOUNT, DELIBERATELY. Kerr says Type A is "said to be technically indistinguishable from the Type C mount" - reported hearsay, not measurement. He gives 1 in-32 TPI for Type C and NO thread specification at all for Type A, and his own appendix downgrades "indistinguishable" to "similar". Collapsing on a hedge would be fabrication by merge. The Type A thread spec is a live gap. SERIAL NUMBERS: these bodies DO carry serials (Kerr's own Special is number 330; a Science Museum Group Royal Magazine is 65678) but NO Cine-Kodak serial-to-year scheme is published anywhere - checked across all four Kerr monographs, Wikipedia, Pacific Rim Camera's Cine reference library and two museum catalogues. Date these bodies by model production window only.
