ONE CAMERA SOLD IN THREE PRICE GRADES, not three cameras - and that call is Kodak's own. Its sales brochure 7772 reads: 'Kodak 35, with Kodak Anastigmat Special f/3.5 lens and Kodamatic shutter, $33.50. With Kodak Anastigmat f/4.5 lens and Diomatic shutter, $24.50. With Kodak Anastigmat f/5.6 lens and Kodex shutter, $14.50.' The 1940 and 1941 catalogues use one heading, 'KODAK 35'S', and AA-13 carries a single Kodak 35 line. The lens and shutter co-vary by grade, which under a literal reading of the two-difference rule would make three rows; they are one product with a specified option, and the catalogue follows the maker. Speeds by grade: Kodex 3 to 1/100; Diomatic 4 to 1/150 with delayed action; Kodamatic 5 to 1/200 with delayed action. Kodak PUBLISHED a weight, 18 oz - rare in this line. Dimensions are in the same catalogue but the inch fractions are illegible in the scan. NO RANGEFINDER: Kodak sold a separate Pocket Range Finder at $7. The f/4.5 lens was renamed Anaston in the late-1940s rebrand - a naming change only. The CAMEROSITY note below applies to the f/3.5 grade alone. DATING: the fitted lens carries Kodak's CAMEROSITY two-letter year prefix on its serial (C=1 A=2 M=3 E=4 R=5 O=6 S=7 I=8 T=9 Y=0), stamped on the ring securing the front group. This gives the LENS year, not the body's, and a swapped lens dates the wrong object - a documented hazard, one collector owning a Medalist I wearing a Medalist II lens. DATES ARE MARKET DATES, NOT PRODUCTION. Kodak's own AA-13 heads its columns 'ON THE MARKET FROM / TO', and no Kodak-published production date exists for any camera in this slice - every third-party 'production years' figure checked is a restatement of AA-13.
