Spec Notes
JCII record: 昭和29年11月発売 (November 1954), ¥27,900. Ricoh's chronology: 'The Asahiflex IIB equipped with the quick-return mirror mechanism is launched.' Lacks the slow speeds the IIA has. CONFLICT on which body first carried the instant-return mirror: Ricoh credits the IIB; mikeeckman credits the IIA while also calling the IIB 'identical except lacking in slow speeds'. Both preserved. Note that en.Wikipedia's phrasing 'world's first pentaprism SLR with an instant return mirror' is self-contradictory - every source describes the IIB as a waist-level camera. Weight NOT SOURCED.
