First Japanese 35mm SLR. JCII record: 昭和27年2月発売 (February 1952), ¥23,000. CONFLICT on month: ja.Wikipedia says 1952年5月 (uncited); February is the institutionally held date. NAME: Ricoh's own chronology prints 「アサヒフレックス I」, but the JCII register hedges it as 「アサヒフレックス（Ⅰ）」 - parentheses being the Japanese convention for a retrospectively applied designation - and mikeeckman states the original camera was simply 'the Asahiflex'. No period 1952-54 Asahi document using either form was located. Named as the maker currently names it. Shutter 1/20-1/500 + T, B per Wikipedia (secondary). Weight NOT SOURCED.
